Pearl roundabout was a monument at Manama, Bahrain was constructed representing the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) since 1982. The place was Know as GCC Roundabout.
The monument had 6 sails holding a perl.
The 6 sails were representing 6 member states of the GCC, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirate. A picture of Pearl monument was featured at the back of Bahrain 500 fils.
In 18 March 2011, a uprising was held against Bahrain government resulted the demolition of the Perl Monument.
After one month, Bahrain government took a decision to devastate the monument as it was violated in anti government movement.
The Central Bank of Bahrain also decided the country the country that the 500 Fils coim will be no longer used and everyone should replace with ½ Dinar Banknote
